Agency Relationships
How brokerage and agency relationships are — and are not — established.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Use of this website, viewing property information, creating an account, requesting information, submitting contact forms, requesting consultations, or communicating with Carolina Commercial Partners does not create a brokerage, agency, advisory, fiduciary, or representation relationship. Such relationships are established only through appropriate written agreements when required. Please do not submit confidential, proprietary, financial, legal, transaction-sensitive, or strategic business information until a formal representation agreement has been established.
How brokerage relationships are established
Submitting a form, requesting information, or communicating with Carolina Commercial Partners does not create a brokerage relationship. Brokerage relationships are established only through appropriate agreements when required — typically a written representation agreement that defines the scope of the engagement, the duties owed to you, and compensation.
Understanding agency in the Carolinas
State real estate commissions publish consumer guides that explain agency, representation, customer relationships, and the obligations brokers owe you. We encourage you to review them:
- North Carolina: "Working With Real Estate Agents" — published by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission (ncrec.gov)
- South Carolina: "Disclosure of Real Estate Brokerage Relationships" — published by the South Carolina Real Estate Commission (llr.sc.gov)
